Individual Research Report – to enable students to demonstrate an understanding of the key building systems and the implications for managing hotel facilities.

Purpose:-

The purpose of this assignment is to enable students to demonstrate an understanding of the key building systems and their implications for managing hotel facilities.

Approach:-

You should undertake a review of relevant journals and web sources to source at least eight articles (including 12 in text references for the report) that relate to any or all of the following topics:-

1.0 Summarise your articles and include your reference, select your articles from the following:-
• Building structure and materials
• Building Maintenance
• Water supply
• Electricity supply
• Heating ventilation and air conditioning

You are then required to provide a brief summary of each of the articles and relate the key points of each article to relevant aspects of hospitality facilities management. The matters you may identify may include such issues as:-

• Safety
• Cost effectiveness
• Environmental sustainability
• Operational efficiencies
